This Privacy Policy explains how NRIVEST ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, shares and protects your personal data when you visit this website, fill in a form or talk to our advisors. We process personal data in line with Indian law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act) and the rules made under it, and the Information Technology Act, 2000. If you live outside India, the laws of your country may give you extra rights, and we will respect them where they apply.

1. Who we are

NRIVEST is a real estate advisory service for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs), Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) and Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) who want to buy, manage or sell property in India. For the purposes of the DPDP Act, NRIVEST is the "Data Fiduciary" for the personal data described in this policy, and you are the "Data Principal".

2. Personal data we collect

Data you give us

  • Enquiry, call-back, brochure, site-visit and event registration forms: your name, email address, phone number with country code, country and city of residence, budget, preferred city or project, preferred call time and any message you write.
  • Newsletter sign-up: your email address.
  • Blog comments: your name, email address and comment.
  • Conversations with our advisors by phone, WhatsApp, video call or email, including documents you choose to share so that we can help you (for example a passport copy or PAN card when you book a property).

Data collected automatically

  • Technical data such as IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, the page that referred you, and the date and time of your visit.
  • Campaign data such as UTM source, medium and campaign when you arrive from an advertisement or a link.
  • Your currency choice and the projects you shortlist or compare, which are stored in your own browser (local storage) and are not sent to us unless you submit a form.
  • Cookies and similar technologies. See section 6 and our Cookie Policy.

3. Why we use your data

  • To reply to your enquiry and give you the information or service you asked for, including calling or messaging you at your preferred time.
  • To share details of projects, prices and availability that match what you told us.
  • To arrange site visits, video walkthroughs, home loan introductions, Power of Attorney help and registration support when you ask for them.
  • To send newsletters or event invitations you have signed up for. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To run, secure and improve the website, including preventing spam, fraud and abuse.
  • To measure how well our website and marketing work.
  • To meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations.

We process your data on the basis of the consent you give when you submit a form or contact us, and for the legitimate uses allowed by the DPDP Act (for example, where you have voluntarily shared your data for a specific purpose, or where the law requires us to process it). We only ask for the data we need for the purpose you came to us for.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only when needed, and only with:

  • The developer of a project you enquire about or book, so they can confirm prices, availability, booking and documentation.
  • Banks and housing finance companies, if you ask us to help with an NRI home loan.
  • Professional advisers such as chartered accountants and lawyers, if you ask us to introduce you.
  • Service providers who help us run the website and our business, such as web hosting, email delivery and customer relationship tools. They may use your data only to provide their service to us.
  • Government bodies, courts or regulators, where the law requires it, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

5. Third-party services on this website

Some features of this website are provided by other companies. When you use them, those companies may receive technical data (such as your IP address) and process it under their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager (if enabled) to understand how visitors use the website.
  • Google Maps to show project and office locations, and Google reCAPTCHA (if enabled) to protect our forms from spam.
  • Google reviews (if shown) are loaded from Google and remain Google's content.
  • WhatsApp (Meta) when you choose to message us. Your chat is handled under WhatsApp's terms and privacy policy.
  • YouTube for embedded project videos and virtual tours.
  • Meta Pixel (if enabled) to measure our advertising on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Google Fonts and public content delivery networks that serve fonts and scripts used to display the website.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies that are needed for the website to work (for example, to keep forms secure) and, where enabled, analytics and advertising cookies that help us understand visits and measure campaigns. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop some features, such as forms, from working. More detail is in our Cookie Policy.

7. International transfers

Because most of our clients live outside India, your data may be accessed from, or stored in, other countries by us or our service providers. We take reasonable steps to protect it wherever it is processed, and we follow any restrictions the Government of India places on transfers under the DPDP Act.

8. How long we keep your data

  • Enquiries that do not lead to a purchase: up to 3 years from our last contact with you, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Clients who buy, sell or manage property with our help: for as long as we serve you and then for up to 8 years, as needed for tax, accounting and legal records.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
  • Website and security logs: usually up to 12 months.

After this, we delete or anonymise your data, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

9. How we protect your data

We use reasonable security measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, two-factor sign-in for staff accounts, restricted access on a need-to-know basis and regular backups. No website or internet transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a personal data breach happens, we will inform affected users and the Data Protection Board of India as the law requires.

10. Your rights

Under the DPDP Act and other applicable laws, you can:

  • Ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it.
  • Ask us to correct, complete or update your data.
  • Ask us to delete your data when it is no longer needed, unless the law requires us to keep it.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, for example by asking us to stop calling or messaging you, or by using the unsubscribe link in our emails. Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before.
  • Nominate another person to exercise your rights if you die or become unable to do so.
  • Raise a grievance with us, and if you are not satisfied with our reply, complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

To use any of these rights, write to us using the email address on our Contact page. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.

11. Grievance contact

If you have a question or complaint about how we handle your personal data, please email our Grievance Officer at the email address shown on our Contact page, with "Privacy" in the subject line. We will acknowledge your message promptly and reply within the time required by law.

12. Children

This website is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their data, please contact us and we will delete it.

Our website links to developer websites, state RERA portals, banks, maps, video platforms and social networks. We are not responsible for how those websites handle your data, so please read their privacy policies.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when the law changes. The latest version will always be on this page, with the date it was last updated.
